Born in Illinois, family moved to Kentucky. He came to Mississippi and served in the Confederate Army in the Civil War. He lived most of his life in Lawrence Co., but moved to Copiah Co. after 1900 and died in 1903. He was married to Eoline Young and had 12 children all born in Lawrence Co.
His father was Richard Allen and his mother was Francis Jane [-unknown-].
