Mrs. Anna Luth Passes Away at Home of Daughter
Mrs. Anna Luth, a pioneer resident of Wabasha county, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Roschen, in Lake City Friday at the age of 77 years. Mrs. Luth had been in poor health for some time, and her passing marks the relief from a prolonged suffering which she had undergone for a long time.
Anna Brunkhorst was born July 26, 1853 in Essel, Hanover, Germany, where she was united in marriage to Harvey Luth. The young couple came to America and settled in Wabasha county, where they have made their home ever since. Mr. Luth died about 15 years ago.
Their union was blessed with four children: namely, Mrs. Albert Burfiend, who preceded her in death, Mrs. John Roschen and Mrs. Emil Burfiend of Lake City, and Fred J. Luth of Woolford, Alberta, Canada. One granddaughter, Elsie Burfiend, who stayed with her until her death, also survives.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Roschen at 2:30 p.m.and at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rev. T. H. Albrecht officiating. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery.
