Phillip J Rudder was known as PJ or Bud. He was known to have made moonshine/whiskey legally and the government made more money than the seller Bud Rudders saloon was mentioned in the Mountain/Sentinel Echo. At a family gathering the young boys sneaked in and helped themselves to the whiskey when their grandpa Bud caught them. He told them he would make them some that tasted really good. Before long the boys were rolling in the grass with stomach cramps, even vomiting When the parents found out what happened they all got mad at PJ. He told them, Well none of them will ever become alcoholics and my Dad said and I guess none of them ever did. Story told by grandson James Melton as retold to his daughter.
