S/O Robert A. & Metta Blankenship Morrison. He received his BA from Wichita State University, where he also played, coached and in 1982 was inducted into the Wichita State Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a High School and College Football and Baseball Coach. He taught and coached from 1950-64 both on the high school level at Cheney, Pratt, & Clearwater and on the University level at Friends University, Southwestern College and Wichita State University. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. He was a US Marine Corps veteran. On March 31, 1946, he married Jeanette Miessler at Argonia. She survives. Other survivors include son, Ron, Olathe; daughters, Charlene Jackson, Olathe, Candyce Clinesmith, Wichita; brothers, Jim, Pretty Prairie, Dave, Denver, Bob, South Hutchinson: sisters, Wilma Wilkerson, Eureka, Geneva Poe & Shirley Allbright, both of Milton; 7 grandchildren & 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Dale, Vern, & Ralph. Funeral service will be Friday, 10 AM at Christ Lutheran Church, Hutchinson. Visitation will be Thursday, 1 PM to 9 PM at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory, Hutchinson. Interment will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Preston.
