Emma Ola Cotton Padgett, devoted Mother, Sister, Granma and Aunt departed this life for her heavenly home on Wednesday, March 6, 2013.
She worked at W.J. Woodham High School until she retired.
Emma was born on November 26, 1931 to Mary Agnes Crawford and Oscar Cotton, Sr. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, 3 sisters, 2 great-great grandchildren, a brother-in-law, and sister-in-law.
Emma is survived by her son Leonard Padgett, Jr. of Pensacola, FL; Sister, Virgie Lee (Allen) Green, Sr; Brother, Oscar Cotton, Jr. both of Pensacola, FL; 8 grandaughters: Lisa (Thomas) Padgett-Hughes, Sr., of Douglasville, GA; Rhonda Padgett (Jerome White), Mary Sharessa (Willie) Williams-Green, Lenora Padgett-Mcnabb (George McMillan), LaShundria Leggs all of Pensacola, FL, Lakesha Williams of Jacksonville, FL, Nikkia (Brain) Padgett-Monroe of Cincinnatti, OH and Kimberly (Aubrey) Blackwell of Suitland, MA; 22 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren; 6 nieces: Rhonda Faye Sheppard of McDonough, GA, Cheryl Watts of Pensacola, FL, Angela Sheppard Dudley of Bronx, NY, LaToya Sheppard of Buffalo, NY, Tressie (Darryl) Scott of Palm Springs, CA, and Simone Cotton of Atlanta, GA, 4 nephews: Anthony Cotton, Derrick Green of Pensacola, FL, Allen (Andrea) Green, Jr. of Lakeville, MN, and Earnest Sheppard, Jr. of Buffalo, NY; and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Joe Morris & Son Funeral Home located at 701 N. DeVillers St. in Pensacola, FL on Friday, March 15 from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 10:0 am on Saturday, March 16, at New Jerusalem Baptist Tabernacle of God. The church is located at 2150 W. Blount Street, Pensacola, FL. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Pensacola, FL.
