David Wright Hooper of Austin, TX passed away on March 11, 2013, at the age of 68. He was born on July 30, 1944 in Longview, TX to Lee and Eugenia (Morris) Hooper. He was a 1962 graduate of Permian High School.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James Lee Hooper and two sisters Sandra Jo Davis and Janett Lisenbe.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Betty; his son, Thomas Hooper of Austin, his daughter, Sandy Gammenthaler and husband Rick of McKinney, and their two children, RJ and Henry; sisters Estelle Munsell of Amarillo, Libby Carter (Sterling), Abilene, and Mary Linda Wood (Glenn), Austin, brother-in-law Bill Lisenbe, Odessa, as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Family will receive family and friends at Harrell Funeral Home, 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, March 15, 2013. Funeral services will be held at Woodlawn Baptist Church, Austin, at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013. Interment will follow services at Onion Creek Memorial Park. Arrangements under the direction of Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, TX 78745, 512-443-1366.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice Austin or to the Donnie Munsell Scholarship Fund, c/o Permian Basin Area Foundation, 200 N. Loraine, Suite 500, Midland, TX 79701.
