Doris L. Daniels, age 100, of Kingsford, MI passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Optalis Health & Rehabilitation in Kingsford, MI. Doris was born August 4, 1922, in Ingalls, MI, daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Chase) Allgeyer.
She graduated from Stephenson High School in 1940.
On October 4, 1941, she married Gilbert Daniels at St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain, MI. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1992.
Doris worked at Isabell's Clothing Store and then the Iron Mountain Credit Bureau before owning and operating Daniel's House of Gifts and Cards for numerous years, retiring in 1981.
She enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading, crafting, playing Bridge and so many other card games anyone challenged her to.
After retirement, Doris enjoyed the snowbird life wintering in Sun City, Arizona. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and an original member of St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Kingsford.
Doris is survived by her 3 sons: Dennis (Nomie) Daniels and John (Diane) Daniels, both of Sun City, AZ, and Gregory (Melanie) Daniels of Houghton Lake, MI;
her daughter Sandra (Mrs. Jack) Stolarski of Spread Eagle, WI;
a brother-in-law Nick Pietrantonio;
12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren;
and many nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by a son-in-law Jack Stolarski;
a grandson, Douglas Daniels;
a great-grandson, Jackson,
a great-great granddaughter, Brooklyn;
3 sisters: Virginia (Nick) Pietrantonio, Gladys (Francis) Reitmeyer and Carol LeMieu;
and five brothers: Curtis, Sam, Raymond, Douglas, and Marvin Allgeyer.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Msgr. Joseph Gouin officiating. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
