Mrs. Ethel M. Ross, 95 of Ubly passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.

Ethel was born on February 19, 1917 in Jackson, MI to the late Vivian and Eunice (Ross) Sanders. She married John "Jack" Ross on October 3, 1936 at the Ubly United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on January 18, 2001.

Ethel was a graduate of Ubly High School. She gave 38 years of service to the Sleeper Public Library in Ubly as librarian and Board of Trustees member. She wintered in Texas for 14 years. She played piano for the Ubly United Methodist Church and the Ubly Presbyterian Church. Ethel truly enjoyed travelling to area nursing homes and entertaining the residents with her musical renditions.

Ethel is survived by one son, three grandchildren; two great grandsons; one son-in-law.

Ethel was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Greene.

The funeral service will be 11 am Tuesday February 12 at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Pastor Ellen Burns and Pastor Pamela Barnett will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery in the spring.

Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Monday from 2-9 pm and Tuesday from 10-11 am.

Memorials have been requested to the Ubly United Methodist Church.
