She was a native of Hardin County and was formerly a beautician/manicurist for Merle Norman. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert P. and Hartsel Mae Freeman Massie; a brother, Herbert Massie Jr.; and a sister, Dorothy Wilkerson.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Albert Howell; two daughters, Debbie Howell (Timothy) Rock and Tina Akers, all of Louisville; four grandchildren, Kim McMahon, Jeri Kenney, Amy Rock and Bob Akers, all of Louisville; 11 great-grandchildren, Morgan Profumo, Micah Eldridge, Ryan Profumo, Timmy Profumo, Brandon Kenney, Josh McMahon, Adam McMahon, Collin Kenney, Landon Akers, Mason Akers and Hannah McMahon; and an aunt, Peggy Lokey of Upton.
The funeral is at noon Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Pastor Lewis Humes officiating. Burial follows in Upton Cemetery.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
