Mrs. Kathryn Turner, 86, of rural Danville died Monday, March 11, 2013, at her home.
Born April 30, 1926 in Hillsboro, she was the daughter of William and Grace Smith Hemmings. On May 17, 1947 she married Leonard Turner in Burlington. He preceded her in death on February 22, 2002.
Mrs. Turner was a homemaker and also worked at Burlington Medical Center, retiring in 1996. She was a member of Long Creek United Methodist Church, Eastern Star in Hillsboro and United Methodist Women. She enjoyed playing cards on Wednesdays at Danville Community building, sewing and crocheting and had assisted with many church meals.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy L. Knezevich of Duluth, Minnesota; four sons, Dale (Deanna) Turner of Danville, Patrick (LynNette) Turner of Dixon, Missouri, Carl Turner of Danville and Paul Turner of Everett, Washington; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Dorrence Hemmings of Fort Madison; and two sisters, Betty Tatum of Lansing, Michigan and Helen Stevens of Rockford, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one granddaughter.
A memorial has been established for Long Creek United Methodist Church.
