Following an illness of about three months duration, Mrs. E. V. Lombard wife of the well known Lake City business man, passed to the Great Beyond last Monday morning at 2:30.
While her demise was not unexpected, her condition for some time having been most serious, her demise came as a distinct shock to the legion of friends of the family, and cast a gloom of sadness over them, coming as {a} cloud on a sunshiny day to mar the holiday spirit. Mrs. Lombard was known and greatly loved by all.
Florence A. Foote was born in Chatfield, this state, Sept. 29, 1864, and was 56 years, 3 months old at the time of her death. She lived in Chatfield during her early life and was married to Ernest V. Lombard, June 15, 1894. After residing at Ortonville for six years Mr. and Mrs. Lombard moved to Lake City, and have resided here since.
There survive, the husband and two adopted sons, Arthur and Clarence, besides three brothers, E. H. Foote, St. Paul; Joseph Foote of Idaho, and Rev. Samuel Foote, Williamstown, VA.
Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. W. A. Mulder officiating, and interment was made in Lakewood cemetery.
