Franklin T. Black, 67, of Jacksonville died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Jones Funeral Home, burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, with the Rev. Mickey Cox officiating. Frank was a veteran of Viet Nam, serving in the U.S. Army and was a N.C. State Highway Trooper for 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Theresa; a son Travis and his wife Jennifer Black; two daughters, Angela and husband Larry Nobles and Kimberly and husband Jason Ambros. He also has five sisters, Helen Jordan, Ruth White, Sue Barrett, Terry Lovette and Vina Clifton; and there are nine grandchildren; Michael, Davis, Tanner, Peyton Delaney, Weston, Sephie, Olivia and Wyatt. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of ones choice in Franks' memory.
