Clint Thompson, 77, of Palatka, died Tuesday, December 17, 2002 at the V.A. Medical center in Gainesville after a long illness.
The Indianhead, Ky. native had lived in Palatka since 1956, coming from Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having received four Bronze Stars and two Purple Hearts. He had worked for 25 years as a tissue shipping clerk with Hudson Pulp and Paper Company. He was a member of Local #852 in Palatka and he had also worked as a truck driver with RCA in Cincinnati. His hobbies included gun and knife collecting and he especially loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Erma Thompson, Palatka; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Pam Thompson, Palatka; three daughters and son-in-law, Karen and Larry "Boots" Walton Jr., Crescent City; Betty Nicholson and Joan Thompson, both of Palatka; stepdaughter, Beverly Pitts, Palatka; stepson, Denny Mullis, Palatka; brother, Orn Thompson, Liberty, Ky.; five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 20 at the funeral home with Rev. John Cameron and Rev. Alfred O. Johns Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in Palatka Memorial Gardens. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd 19 Dec 2002.)
