Jeannette Turner, 91, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Midland Hospice House. She was born January 19, 1922 in Harris, KS, the daughter of Albert and Winnie Christy Lloyd.

Jeannette graduated from Garnett High School and attended Emporia State. She taught school for five years in Anderson and Osage Counties. She also worked at the Forbes Supply Depot near Topeka.

Jeannette married Chester Turner on January 23, 1942 in Kincaid, KS. They lived on a farm near Berryton for many years. She loved to drive tractors and help with farm work. Jeannette was a member of the Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Harmony Club.

Survivors include her husband, Chester of Topeka, one daughter, Patsy (Jim) Jones of Netawaka, KS, one son, Dale (Wanda) Turner of Berryton, four grandchildren, Jason and Travis Jones and Becky and Ryan Turner, thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery southeast of Topeka. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
