Dorothy W. Wilson
The funeral for Dorothy Virginia West Wilson, 90, of Laurens, S.C., and formerly of Axton, who died Monday, April 16, 2007, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Norris Funeral Services chapel. The Rev. Dale Wilson will officiate. Burial will be at Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour before the funeral and other times at the home.
She was born in Dustin, Okla., on May 30, 1916, to Marvin Edward West Sr. and Mary Park West. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard C. Wilson.
She was a member of Axton Baptist Church and the Women's Missions; also, the Home Demonstration Club and TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly). Surviving are two daughters, Linda Sue Orcutt of Laurens, S.C., and Margaret Ann Davis of Axton; two sons, Marvin Edward Wilson of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Robert "Bob" Howard Wilson of Amherst; one sister, Rosalie West Spraker of Mount Airy, N.C.; one brother, Marvin Edward West Jr. of Martinsville; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
