Eldest son of Frederick and Justina Kercher. John inherited the family farm upon his father's death, John was only 13 at the time. Upon his substantial inheritance, he lived a gay life and drank heavily. John married Catherine Koser on September 6th of 1808, Catharine was 15, John was 23. John managed to squander his significant inheritance by age 40 and in 1825 John committed suicide, leaving his family penniless. He is buried at an unknown crossroad. He was the father of William, Eliza, Susan and Katie.
