Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at Kimball United Methodist Church, Kimball with Rev. Heather Klason officiating. Burial will follow in the Kimball Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday at the church. There will be a prayer service 6 p.m. Monday.
Lowell Henry Helgeson was born January 15, 1917 in Fair Haven to Henry and Helena (Ziegenbein) Helgeson. He married Marjorie C. Gaida on July 2, 1946 in St. Cloud and she preceded him in death on August 21, 1997. Lowell lived in Walker and St. Cloud before moving to Duluth in 1986. He loved his family, fishing, hunting, history, music, and playing the harmonica and accordion.
Lowell is survived by his children and their spouses, Peggy (Richard) Lehman of Faribault, Pamela Day of Anacortes, WA, Lance (Pamela) of Duluth, Paula (Ken) Peterson of Cotton, Patricia (Doug) VanValkenburg of Saginaw, Phyllis (David) Evans of Baudette, and Lane of Mukwonago, WI; sisters, Eunice (Jerome) Schempf of Elk River and Bonnie (Donnie) Jergens of MN; brothers, Roland (MaryAnn) of St. Michael and Arvid of Muskego, WI; grandchildren, Russ, Rich, Kymn, Yossarian, Benjamin, Luke, Pamela, Annie, Lance, Jamie, Lane, Lorne, Bill, Lowell, and Maggie; and great grandchildren, Skyler, Dillon, Tristan, Sam, Max, Paige, Jadyn, Ella, Jack, Sam, Lily-Rose, Katie, Cameron, Paige, and Drake. An infant daughter, Mary Rose; 6 sisters; and 3 brothers, preceded him in death.
