Henn ran his hardware business, 'The Exchange', at 1212 Tongass Avenue (currently the site of Lou Cinda's Collectibles) Ketchikan, Alaska, from 1930 until 1959.

Henry Henn was active in the community and was one of the founders of the Ketchikan Salmon Derby. He and his wife Marie were married over 75 years and lived in Ketchikan for nearly 70. Henry passed away at the age of 100 on October 21, 1995 only 8 days after his wife Marie had died.
