Raymond Zentz

Manhattan - Raymond L. Zentz, 84, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 1996, at his home in Manhattan.

Mr. Zentz was born May 11, 1912, in Marysville, the son of Frank and Anne Zentz. He was a farmer and rancher and also worked in maintenance at Kansas Sate University until he retired in 1972. Mr. Zentz was a member of Grace Baptist Church and Eagles Lodge 2468, both in Manhattan.

He was preceded in death by three sisters.

He married Florence Irene Harrison June 23, 1941, in Beatrice, Neb., and she survives of the home.

Other survivors include five sons, Donald Zentz of Tallmadge, Ohio, Larry Zentz and Marvin Zentz, both of Manhattan, Alvin Zentz of York, Neb., and Garry Zentz of Denham Springs, La.; a daughter, Marily Ekstrum of Marysville; 18 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Edwards-Yorgensen-Meloan Funeral Home with the Rev. Don L. Pahl officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.
