Benny passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013, at 9:23 a.m., at the Carpenter House in Baton Rouge. He was 80 years old and born on January 29, 1933 in Holden, LA. Retired from the Baton Rouge Fire Department with 32 years of service as Assistant Fire Chief. He was a member of Baton Rouge Fire Department Local 557. Benny loved automobiles, especially the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Rosalie Salemi "Bootsie" Morgan; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and David Lemon; stepdaughter, Heather Binder and husband, Robert; three stepsons and wives: David and Tina Mancuso, Gary and Michelle Mancuso, and Dale and Cindy Mancuso; three granddaughters: Danielle Lemon, Alex Lemon, and Rebecca Mancuso; five grandsons: Joshua Mancuso, Dustin Mancuso, Cody Mancuso, Travis Mancuso, and Tristan Mancuso; and ten great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Ted Kemp and his staff, Pinnacle Home Health, St. Joseph Hospice, The Carpenter House, and the medical staff of Med-5 on the fourth floor at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for the care given to Benny at this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge, 550 Lobdell Ave., Baton Rouge, LA 70806. Arrangements by Resthaven Funeral Home.
