Charles Robert (Chuck) McGregor Sr,
Colonel USAF Retired, took his last flight on 28 February, 2013, at the age of 72 at his home in Apple Valley with his family by his side after a prolonged battle with cancer.

Chuck was born on 16 June, 1940 in Detroit Michigan. He had a distinguished 24 year career in the US Air Force as commissioned officer and fighter pilot.

His service highlights included duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis, 418 combat missions in Vietnam, F-4 squadron command at George AFB CA, and fighter training command at Holloman AFB NM.

Chuck's military awards include the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, 17 Air Medals, two Meritorious Service Medals, both the Army and Air Force Commendation Medals, and 12 other awards.

Retiring from the Air Force and moving to Apple Valley, he served as a VP of a systems engineering firm and consultant to the Apple Valley Airport.

Following the attacks on 9/11/2001, he spent three years in a federal employee role for the Air Force at Davis-Monthan AFB concluding in 2004.

Chuck was an avid skeet shooter and could frequently be found at most of the High Desert skeet and trap clubs. He enjoyed many hours of solace fly fishing across the United States. He immensely enjoyed time with his grandchildren, Mia and Robby, and kept in touch with many friends from his time in the Air Force and social gatherings at the Apple Valley Inn.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Jane Marie MacDonald of Green Harbor, MA, and two children, LtCol Charles R. (Charlie) McGregor Jr (Kari) USMCR of Charlotte, NC and Bonnie L. McGregor of San Diego, CA. He has two young grandchildren, Charles Robert McGregor III (Robby) and Mia Paige McGregor.
