Edward J. Remiker, 81, of Whitelaw, died Wednesday afternoon, April 18, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville and 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. The Rev. Richard H. Heymen will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Reimker was born Dec. 30, 1902 in the Town of Franklin, son of the late Joseph and Mary Stefl Remiker. He married Laura Lemberger, June 3, 1930. She preceded him in death April 13, 1964. He then married Mary Riederer Zipperer, Dec. 26, 1966 and she preceded him in death Dec. 13, 1981. He farmed in the Town of Cato and then moved to his present home in Whitelaw. Mr. Remiker was a member of Holy Name Society of St. Michael Church and Whitelaw Senior Citizens.
Survivors include four brothers and three sisters-in-law. Herbert Remiker of Manitowoc, Elmer and Marie Remiker of route 1, Reedsville, Victor and Gertrude Remiker of Route 1, Cato and Joseph and Mary Remiker of Route 1, Reedsville; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Herbert Hastreiter of Route 1, Cato; four stepsons and three stepdaughters-in-law, Donald Zipperer of New York City, New York, Jerry and BarbaraZipperer of Fond du Lac, Leo and Margi Zipperer of Sturgeon Bay and Al and Gretchen Zipperer of Waukesha; a step daughter and stepson-in-law, Marge and Loyal Mueller of Rice Lake, Wis; 12 stepgrandchildren and three step-greatgrandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bernard and Ann Riederer of Manitowoc, Edward and Irene Riederer of Route 1, Cato, August and Dorothy Riederer of Manitowoc, Robert Riederer, Harold and Leona Lemberger, Max and Hilda Pankratz, Victor and Anna Tisler all of Whitelaw and Katherine Husted of Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was preceded in death by two sons, Virgil and Norbert.
Friends may call at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday until the time of services. There will be a rosary service 7 p.m. Sunday by Father Heymen and the Holy Name Society.
