Mrs. Leo A. (Ruth) Phillips, 78, of 516 York St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning, March 6, 1974, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Victor N. Hillestad will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mrs. Phillips, nee Ruth Miller, was born July 3, 1895, at Green Bay, daughter of the late William and Anna Miller. She was educated at Green Bay. She was married to Leo A. Phillips Nov. 17, 1915, at Little Chute. She was a former member of the G.U.G. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Richard and Merrick, of Chicago; Milton, of St. Clair shores, Mich.; and Donald, of Beaver Dam; wight daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Hammerschmidt, Mrs. Jack (Beatrice) Gerts; Mrs. Audrey Hanson and Mrs.William (Betty) Philpott, of Chicago; Mrs. George (Elaine) Lyman, of San Bernardino, Calif.; Mrs. Marilyn Hoffman, of Clawson, Mich.; Mrs. Donald (Gladys) Burgett, of Cleveland, Ohio; and Mrs. Robert (Evelyn) MacGregor, of St. Clair Shores; 42 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Three brothers, a sister and a grandson preceded her in death. Friends may call at Urbanek and Shlei Funeral Home, State Street Chapel, from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday.
