Mildred C. Fowble, age 98 of Cardington, died Saturday, March 09, 2013 at the Marion General Hospital. She was born on December 15, 1914 in Mount Gilead to the late Clifford L. Sr. and Nellie (Sparks) Smiley.

Mildred was the 2nd oldest of 8 children and a 1932 graduate of Cardington High School. She went on to work in the accounting department at HPM for 34 years as an accounting clerk.

Mildred is survived by 3 daughters: Shirley (Robert) Robinson of Cardington, Audrey (Richard) Newbury of Lima and Geraldine (Doug) Osborne of Galion; 1 brother, Jack (Gloria) Smiley of Huntington Beach, CA; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and Clifford Jr. and 4 sisters, Eleanor, Eilene, Virginia and Geneive and a great-granddaughter.

Friends and family may call on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Gail Angel officiating. The burial will follow in Glendale Union Cemetery.
