Funeral services for Mrs. Janis Brandon Miller, 66, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in the chapel at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. John Mabry officiating.
Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Miller passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Stoneybrook Assisted Living in West Monroe. Janis fought the good fight but passed away from Alzheimer's.
Janis was born in Nashville, TN in 1947 and moved to Chalmette in 1948 and then to Monroe in 1960.
She graduated from Neville High School in 1964 and Northeast Louisiana State University in 1968. Janis was voted Who's Who in 1968 and was a member of Alpha Omicron Di, Alpha Lamba Delta, Sigma Tau Delta, Sig Tau Gamma White Rose and was a Cheerleader. She went on to obtain her Master's Degree in English Literature and taught at Carrol High School, Wossman High School, Benton High School, Robeline High School and was assistant registrar at NLU and University of Alabama.
Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents, O.E. and Dorothy "Dot" Brandon; and cousin, Faye Layne.
