Edward C. "Bum" Gilbert, 72, of Momence, died on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
He was born on August 22, 1933 in Kankakee, the son of Russell and Charlotte Astel Gilbert.
He was married to Ruth Lee Gilbert and Connie M. Benge Gilbert.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Gilbert of Kankakee; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Russell L. and Eileen Gilbert of Grant Park, Jerry E. and Linda Gilbert of Bourbonnais, Brian and Karen Gilbert of Frederick, MD and Ryan Gilbert; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; one sister and two brothers-in-law, Grace and Melvin Ziems of Elroy, WI and Robert Tedford of Cherokee Village, Arkansas. And his special friend, Theresa Rock of St. Anne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Connie Gilbert, and one sister, Shirley Tedford.
Mr. Gilbert had been a farmer and had owned and operated Gilbert Septic Service for over 30 years.
He enjoyed going to the coffee shop and farm sales.
Services were held Friday, May 12 at the Cotter Funeral Home in Momence.
Interment was in Momence Cemetery in Momence,.
