Judy C. Gay and three children die in Virginia Beach, Virginia, fire
Judy C. Gay, 27, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and her three children were killed in a fire at their home at 2:10 a.m. Saturday.
Mrs. Gay was formerly a resident of Spraytown.
The children killed in the fire were Mark William Gay Jr., 5; David Allen Gay, 3; and James R. Gay 1 1/2 [18 months].
Mrs. Gay was born December 21, 1958, in Seymour, to James and Gladys Mize Kaufman of Spraytown. She moved to Virginia nine years ago.
She was married March 12, 1977, in Freetown, to Mark William Gay, who survives.
Other survivors include a brother, Donald E. Kaufman, Spraytown; six sisters, Sandra E. Minton, North Vernon; Mary L. Harris and Linda Harris, both of Seymour, Donna Hicks, Channel View, Texas; Stacy Kaufman and Melinda Kaufman, both of Spraytown.
Also surviving are the children's maternal grandparents, James and Gladys Kaufman, Spraytown, and their paternal grandparents, Billy R. Gay, Brownstown, and Norma Gay, Surprise.
Services are pending at Voss Mortuary.

Setting It Straight
Services for Judy C. Gay, 27, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and her three children, who were killed Saturday in a fire in Virginia Beach, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Voss Chapel, Seymour.
A Tribune headline Tuesday incorrectly said services would be on Saturday. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from noon until services Friday.

Services for Judy C. Gay, 27, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and her three children who were killed Saturday in a Virginia Beach fire, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Voss Chapel, Seymour.
