Mary Elizabeth Jacobs-Harper, 84, of Fordyce, passed away on March 15, 2005 in the Dallas County Medical Center at Fordyce.

She was born on February 18, 1021 in Dallas County,

Mary was a retired LPN for the Dallas County Hospital with 35 years of sevice. She was a member of the Beech Grove Church of Fordyce.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George S. Harper; one daughter, Virginia Sue Harper-Stanton; and her parents, James Samuel Jacobs and Rosie Susan Faucett-Jacobs.

Mary is survived by four sons: Jerry Harper of Kilgore, TX, Sammy Harper of Fordyce, Joe Harper of Jamestown, NY and David Harper of Garland, TX; one daughter, Mary Lou Gavin of Pine Bluff; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral services will be held in the Benton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Copeland and Rev. Nathan Winiecki officiating. The burial services will be held at Stoney Point Cemetery by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.

Memorials may be made to the Beech Grove Church or the Zion Baptist Church.
