Biography - Oriole Peter Hollingsworth was born September 4, 1898 to James Abram Hollingsworth and Nancy Martha Booher Hollingsworth at Lenore, Nez Perce County, Idaho.
As a young man, he moved back and forth from Oregon to Idaho with his parents. When his father died in 1916, the family was living on a homestead on Joseph Plains south of Cottonwood, Idaho.
Ora Hollingsworth married Virginia "Virgie" Wheatley, July 29, 1930, in Denver, Colorado. They were later divorced. They had one son, Daryl Leroy Hollingsworth, born April 13, 1933 in Denver CO.
According to Stella Hollingsworth Crow, Ora contracted cerebral palsy and lost his mind. He worked in Oregon, Idaho and Colorado where ever he could find work. Stella said Virginia divorced him when he first got sick and he was in a mental hospital in Colorado. Stella and her brother, Alfred, had Ora brought to Spokane, Washington where he found work on a dairy farm. Ora decided to go back and try to reconcile with Virginia. She had gone to California. They never got back together. Ora was admitted to the State Mental Hospital in California where he died January 26, 1952.
Letter dated February 13, 1952 to Mrs. Harry Crow, Spokane, Washington from Patton State Hospital, Patton, Carlifornia - "Ora P. Hollingsworth was in poor mental condition and mentally deteriorated before his death and died of broncho pneumonia and a failing heart. After a scientist post mortem study, burial arrangements will be made."
