Mrs. J. E. Penner Dies
Mrs. Dora Alice Penner, 62, wife of J. E. Penner, prominent El Reno merchant, died at 4 o'clock Monday morning, at the family residence, 314 South Barker, following a two weeks' illness with influenza and pneumonia. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the First Christian church with Rev. W. H. Matthes conducting the services. Mrs. Penner has been prominent in social life of the city for more than thirty years. She was treasurer of the local Athenaeu, one of the oldest study clubs of the state. With her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Dale, she moved to Oklahoma City from Cedar county, Mo., in 1889 and a year later moved to El Reno. In 1896 she was united in marriage to J. E. Penner.

Surviving are her husband, two brothers, Dale of El Reno, and Dr. J. E. Dale of Los Angeles, Calif., six sisters, Miss Etta Dale and Mrs. J. A. Brooke of El Reno, Mrs. H. W. Morgan, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Mary Klapp, Tecumseh; Mrs. U. M. Post, Wichita, Kans., Mrs. H. A. Smith of Venice, Calif.
