Henry Arthur Abbott, 84, died at Springfield Health and Rehab Center after a long illness.
He was born the Son of Arthur and Roxana (Leet) Abbott.
Mr. Abbott was a 1931 graduate of Springfield High School.
On September 28, 1932 he married Claribel (Pat) Baldwin of Springfield.
While in high school, he took the cooperative course at Jones and Lamson and worked for a short time at Saco Lowell in Biddeford, Maine. Later, he again worked at Jones and Lamson and retired from there after more than 40 years.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and played hockey and baseball for many years. He was a long-time member of North Springfield Church and lifetime member of the Springfield Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
He was predeceased by his wife in 1993 and by his daughter, Roxie Peterson, in 1994.
Survivors include a daughter; a sister; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
