TWO STERLING BOYS KILLED IN WAR
Sterling--The tragedy of war struck heavily in Sterling this week, two war department telegrams bringing word of the death of Sterling boys in action.
Sgt. Lee Garrigues, 19, earlier reported missing after a bombing raid over Germany September 12, is dead, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Garrigues, were notified.
Sergeant Garrigues, a tail gunner on a Flying Fortress, entered the service last December 10 and had been overseas only about a month when his plane failed to return from a mission. He was born October 11, 1925, and graduated from Sterling high school in 1943. Besides the parents he is survived by two sisters, Gwen and Celeste.
