Whitewater - Mrs. Ella May Guernsey Wilcox, 63, died at her home on South Franklin street at 11 p.m. Saturday after a week's illness following a stroke.
Mrs. Wilcox was born Sept. 4, 1876, in Hastings, Neb., and moved to Whitewater in 1911. She taught school in the town of Fulton and at Harmony, Wis., and was married in November 1900 to Frank Wilcox, Harmony. They lived on a farm in Whitewater until 1914, then moving to their present home on South Franklin street.
Survivors are her husband, one daughter, Carol, at home; two sons, Ross, East Troy, and Merrill, Whitewater; five brothers, A. M. Milton, Bert, Milton Junction, James E., Johnstown, John H., Waukesha, and Lowell Guernsey, Sierra Madre, Calif., and her mother, Mrs. Sarah L. Guernsey, who lives with her daughter, Mrs. Wagener.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the home and 1:30 in the Methodist church with the Rev. Alfred Hoad officiating. Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial park, Janesville.
