She was born May 23, 1939, in Burnsville, daughter of the late Grover C. and Ethel Love Brown.
She married John A. Gulley and he survives in their home. Also surviving are five sons, John a. Gulley, Jr, Virgil S. Gulley, J. Michael Gulley, Eric j. Gulley and Jeffery B. Gulley; grandchildren, Elijah M. Cottrill, Adam J. Gulley, Zachery Gulley, Jeffery B. Gulley, John A. Gulley III; Shawna R. Bond, Jessica Gulley Wyatt, Megan E. Gulley, Morgan J. Gulley, Jenna R. Gulley, Adele M. Gulley and Katie E. Gulley; great-grandchildren, Thomas Kasson Wyatt, Emma Grace Wyatt, Clarice S. Bond and Kayne A. Bond.
Mary was the last surviving member of her immediately, family having been preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.
Mary graduated from Braxton County High School. For several years after raising her family, Mary was very active in home health care. She was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Family and friends will be received at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m. A Vigil Service will be held in the funeral home on Sunday evening, at 7:30 p.m. to conclude visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 11, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Kent Durig as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
