Evelyn Curtis Persinger, age 89, of 1710 Main St, Clifton Woods Apartments, Clifton Forge died peacefully at her residence on Thursday, May 6, 2010. She was born September 15, 1920 in Alleghany County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Oscar L. and Blanch N. Curtis. She and her husband Mac managed Fassifern Farm in Warm Springs for eighteen years. She worked for Bacova Guild and retired from The Homestead and The Lower Cascades. She was a member of Lone Star Advent Christian Church where she was in the Adult Sunday School class and the Susie Davis Circle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Massie "Mac" Persinger; two sons, Earnest "Billy" Persinger and Benny L. Persinger; five brothers, Ollie Curtis, Kenneth Curtis, Quincy Curtis, Cleveland Curtis and Cletus Curtis, and one sister, Mabel Waters. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Stinnett and husband Carl of South Point, OH; a son, Buddy Persinger and wife Paula of Bacova; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Hall of Burnsville; three brothers, P.C. Curtis, Grayson Curtis, and Carlos Curtis; one sister, Geraldine Loving; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren, and many special friends. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Doug Moore and Reverend Louis Dodd officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Nicely Funeral Home and any time Friday at the residence, 1710 Main St, Apt 108, Clifton Forge, VA.
