Our loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, Fred Tennant, Jr., age 77, died January 18, 1996 at home in West Jordan, due to complications from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

Born January 14, 1919 in Marion, Mass., a son of Fred, Sr. and Clarinda Amelia Smith Tennant. Married Virginia Hardy Blair on December 1, 1945 in Elko, Nevada; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Fred retired as a plant manager in the Compressed Cryogenics Gases Industry. He served in the U.S. Army from 1939 to 1953. Active member of the LDS Church, West Jordan 44th Ward. He served as a former bishop and ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple as well as serving as a missionary with his wife in the Tallahassee Florida Mission. He also served in many other capacities within the church.

Survivors: wife; sons, Blair F. and Roger E. Tennant, all of West Jordan; daughter, Terry (Anthony) Trujillo, Salt Lake; brothers, Phillip and Richard; sisters, Kathryn, Agnes and Ruth; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Tyler Thomas Tennant; sister, Dorothy, and brothers, William Vernon, Roland and Albert.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 12 noon, at the West Jordan 44th Ward, 1899 West 7600 South. Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McDougal West Jordan Mortuary, 1861 West 7800 South, and from 11-11:45 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment in the Granite Cemetery, Sandy, Utah.
