1950 obituary from The Courier-Gazette:

John James Hollomon, a native of Tennessee and resident of Collin County the past 60 years, passed away at his home at Wylie about 7 o'clock Thursday morning. Mr. Hollomon, who was a well known pharmacist of this county, had been ill for more than a year. He was 81 years old.

Mr Hollomon, who was born on May 3, 1868, was a son of Mr and Mrs John Hollomon. He married Helen Nelms in Denison on April 20, 1915.

Surviving him besides his wife are three daughters, Mrs Velma Hood of Fort Worth, Mrs Maxine Kernion of Amarillo and Mrs Marcia Stone of Garden Grove, California,: two sons, Harry K. Hollomon of Yuma, Arizona and Dr. J. J. Hollomon Jr. of Edna: two brothers, Amos Hollomon of Athens, Tennessee and Owen Hollomon of Ten Mile, Tennessee: and six grandchildren. Two daughters preceeded him in death.

Funeral arrangements, which are with Crouch-Moore Funeral Home, have not been completed. The Rev. W. Raymond Carrigam of Dallas is to conduct the rites of Wylie Methodist Church, of which Mr Hollomon was a member, but the time is pending.

The body is to be taken to the family home at Wylie Friday morning where it will remain until time for the services.
