Funeral services for Mr. Steve N. "Pap" Long, age 64, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Lonadier and Rev. Rayburn McLarrin officiating.
Interment will follow in Bonita Road Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Long passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013. He was a member of Horseshoe Baptist Church, former member of Bonita Road Baptist Church, and participated in the Christian Motorcycle Ministry.
He served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. Long had worked as an auto salesman, retired as a salesman, and was a former owner of Paps Dairy Hub in Mer Rouge. His hobbies included motorcycle riding, woodworking, traveling, and entertaining his grandchildren.
Mr. Long is preceded in death by his parents, Carlton and Madie Long.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Walthall Long; daughters, Tina Nobles and husband Brian of Bastrop, LA, Lynda Anne Parrott and husband Chris of Bastrop, LA; sisters, Debbie Isbell and husband Neal of Muscle Shoals, AL, Linda Kay Metts and husband Jed of Elkin, NC; grandchildren, Catelyn Parrott and fiance Dennis Hicks, Caleb Parrott, Ethan Nobles, Riley Keith Nobles; and special friend, Jack.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Parrott, Caleb Parrott, Brian Nobles, Ethan Nobles, Dennis Hicks, and Darell Ardoin. Honorary pallbearers are Riley Keith Nobles, Christopher Cabaniss, and Dallas "Hoss" Manning.
