Death of 70 yr. old John Gents, an old settler in Town Mishicott. Burial was Saturday.

From Der Nord Westen, 11 Mar. 1897: (From the correspondent in Mishicott, 09 Mar.)
Death on this town's north side on the 25th of Feb., of John Gens,
of kidney disease. He was 76 yrs. 1 mo. of age and came to America
in the early 1850's. His then wife died on the voyage, leaving him
with a daughter, now Mrs. Hans England. He married a second time,
but she soon died leaving him with 2 more children – son Albert, who
died last summer, and a daughter who's married and living in Two Rivers.
He was a well thought of gentleman. He was buried Sun. before last in
the Saxenburg Cemetery.
