Gene L. Ray is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nora; his sons, Brian, Zachary and Peter Ray; and his daughters, Jeannie Ray-Timoney and Toni O'Donnell. His oldest son, Michael Ray preceded him in death Feb. 5, 2013. He has 28 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was a graduate of Washington High School and the University of Portland. He served in WWII in the Navy in the Pacific. Gene was an avid fisherman who built several boats over the years. He fished over the Columbia bar for his favorite salmon sport fishing. He enjoyed coaching his sons in CYO sports when they were young and enjoyed watching his sons, daughters and grandchildren play football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, lacrosse and track and field, especially at St. Mary's Academy and Central Catholic High School. His passions included spending time with his wife, Nora, building his own homes, working on his salmon fishing boat and repairing family cars. Funeral Service at St. John Fisher Church Saturday, March 9 at 10 a.m., Rosary at 9:30 a.m.
