KILLED IN ACTION. While with three comrades occupying a small shelter at the gun positions SW of Passchendaele at about 1:30 P.M., November 11, 1917, an enemy heavy calibre shell made a direct hit on the shelter instantly killing Gunner Paul and his three comrades.
