Leta Mae Garrett, b. January 18, 1899, Jefferson County, MS, d. July 30, 1918; Franklin County, Mississippi; buried in Union Church Cemetery Leta Mae was 18 years old and home for the summer from the Teacher's College she'd attended for a year, when she became ill and died within a few days. It is believed that she died of appendicitis.
