James Alvin Aldridge, Jr., 73, of Colonial Heights, died Friday, June 20, 2008 at his residence. He was the son of the late James Alvin, Sr. and Ruth Gladys Goodwyn Aldridge. Mr. Aldridge is survived by his wife of fifty years, Mildred J. Aldridge; daughters, Cheryl Taylor and husband Perry of Chesterfield, Carole Lanier and husband Warren of Prince George, and Carrie King of Chesterfield; three grandchildren, Lyndsey, Michael, and Mark King; sister, Linda Susan Brown and husband Calvin of Chesterfield. A graveside service will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008 in East Matoaca Cemetery, Memorial Avenue, Matoaca, Virginia with the Rev. Graham Paterson officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Crater Community Hospice, 840 West Roslyn Road, Suite E, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 or Colonial Heights Fire and EMS or to the Colonial Heights Animal Shelter, P.O.
