--Son of Charles Fulk and wife Lucille Hunter.
--Occupation: He began his career unloading boxcars for Armour & company, and from there went into sales with Armour. He went to work with Holly Farms in Wilkesboro in the 1960s. In 1971, he opened his first Hardee's Restaurant in Wilkesboro. As a Hardee's franchisee, Jack developed the made-from-scratch homemade breakfast biscuit. In 1977, he and co-founder Richard Thomas opened the first Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits in Charlotte. Jack led Bojangles until his retirement in 1985.
--He married Mildred Hart on May 19, 1951 in Forsyth County, NC. They had 3 children: son Jack Zimmerman Fulk, Jr. who predeceased him. They also had 2 daughters: Donna and Gina Fulk. 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.
