Dolores Sue Chambers (formerly Sue Keeney) passed away peacefully at her home in La Porte, Texas to be in heaven with God on Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Born in Georgetown, Texas March 7, 1932, Sue was one day away from celebrating her 81st birthday.

A member of First United Methodist Church in Pasadena, Texas, Sue embodied the love and joy of God. A positive spirit, Sue faced adversity, always with God's grace. Sue loved sitting on the beach with her daughter and friends in Mexico bargaining with beach vendors, a lively bridge game with the Shady Ladies and the Houston Yacht Club where she is famous for her wild and crazy bidding, bright colors to match her bright spirit, and bold earrings without which she would never leave the house.

Graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a master's degree in social work, Sue remained a lifelong Longhorn fan. She spent her professional life serving people through her career at the Department of Health and Human Services.

She is survived by her best friend, Lucy Doris, her beloved dog; her children, Juliane Graham and husband Gary of La Porte, Texas, Jon Keeney and wife Melinda of League City, Texas, and Paul Keeney of Houston, Texas; her granddaughter Kellie Fields and husband Tommy; and two beautiful great grandsons, Cade and Colton Fields. She is preceded in death by Molly, her beloved dog; her father, Robert Chambers of San Antonio, Texas and Mamie Dayton Davis of Baytown, Texas.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00am Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Niday-Fairmont Funeral Home in Pasadena, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at La Porte Cemetery.
