He was born to the late Richard Bryson and Allene Akin, May 14, 1931, in Webb City, Missouri. In February of 1985, he married the love of his life, Barbara Bryson, who survives.
In 1969, Mr. Bryson, retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as a Chief Warrant Officer 2. After serving in the Marine Corp he had the opportunity to join Contel Corporation, where he retired after 10 years. After being retired twice Mr. Bryson still felt the need to keep busy and got into the business of home repair.
Mr. Bryson was a devoted family man who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. After taking a gardening class he became a master gardener. He enjoyed involving his family in his hobbies, making his wife his fishing partner and with pride showed off his gardens to his family.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Bryson; his daughter, Janice Cook of Arkansas; his daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Richard Fehrs of New Hampshire; his son and daughter-in-law, Richard Jr. and Linda Bryson of Connecticut; his son and daughter-in-law, William and Cheryl Bryson of Arizona; his son and daughter-in-law Clifton and Norma Tumlin of Arkansas; his daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Don Carle of Utah; his son, Darrell Tumlin; his daughters Theresa Tumlin Carter and Denise Tumlin all of Barstow; his son and daughter-in-law Robert and Jennifer Johnson of Kansas; and his brother Larry Bryson of Arizona. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, one grandchild on the way, twenty-five great-grandchildren and 2 on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Bryson and Allene Akin; 1 grandchild and 1 great grandchild.
Memorial Services will be held at Mead Mortuary, 36930 Irwin Rd. Barstow, Ca 92311, on March 18th, 2013 at 2pm.
