Elorn Julia Bieritz, 91, of Yorkville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at Jennings Terrace Nursing Home in Aurora, IL. She was born in Plano, IL, the daughter of Stephen and Julia (Szabo) Batorson.

Elorn was a 1932 graduate of Plano High School. After high school, she enrolled in nurses training and worked as a housekeeper for the families of Dr. Ritt, MD, and Dr. Ivan Dickson, DDS, of Yorkville.

She was united in marriage on September 23, 1939, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL, to Walter Bieritz and they spent the next 61 happy years of their lives together at their house on Walker Road until January 2001 when they moved to Jennings Terrace in Aurora. She was a long-time member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL. She was president of the Immanuel Lutheran Ladies Aid, a Vacation Bible School teacher, and a Cub Scout den mother. Mrs. Bieritz was employed in the early 1950s initially at Aurora Products Company, and later at Stoner Manufacturing in Aurora, IL. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt, who will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.

She is survived by her sons, David (Kathryn) Bieritz of Sterling, VA. and Gerald (Sheryl) Bieritz, PhD of Tyler, TX; her brother, George (Elaine) Batorson of Decatur, IL; and her sister, Margaret (Russell) Devick of Yorkville, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Bieritz; her four brothers, Stephen, Louis, Joseph and Alex; and her sister, Ann Gross; as well as two siblings in infancy.

A Service in the Celebration of the Life of Elorn Bieritz was held at 10 AM on Monday, March 20, 2005, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Joanne Adrian officiating. Pallbearers were Dr. Wesley Bieritz, John Bieritz, Daryl Devick, William Hardecopf, and Ron Wigton. Special music was provided by Laurie Newberg, organist, and Dr. Gerald Bieritz, soloist, who sang, "How Great Thou Art."
