Roscoe DeWitt, 64, died at his home eight miles southwest of Chadwick at 5 a.m. Thursday, March 10. He had suffered a heart condition. Mr. DeWitt was a lifelong resident of the area and a retired farmer. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; seven sons, Bill and Benny, both of rural Forsyth, Ray and Warren, both of Santa Paula, Calif., Bob, Ozark, and Jerry and Garland, both of the home; six daughters, Mrs. Georgia Walters, Kansas City, Mrs. Jean Walker, Chadwick, Mrs. Blanche Dean and Mrs. Geraldine Alms, both of Joplin, and Marilyn and Julene, both of the home; two brothers, Charles E., Ozark and Harrison, Gravette, Ark.; five sisters, Mrs. Faye Gideon and Mrs. Claudia Gideon, both of Forsyth, Mrs. Josie Gibson, Ozark, Mrs. Mamie Hurd, Denair, Calif. and Mrs. Daisy Lofton, Santa Paula and several grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday in the Pine Ridge Church. The Rev. Charley Shipman officiated, and burial was in Meadows Cemetery. Harris of Ozark was in charge.
