Sandy was employed by Qwest for 37 years and purchased the Daily Stop in 1998. He was the past exalted ruler of the Safford Elks Lodge and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Safford Eighth Ward.
Sandy was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Collins and Eunice Mickelson. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jo Ann; his children, Cindy (Terry) Donham, Brandon Collins, Scott Collins, Craig Collins, Tiffani (Felix) Vasquez, Stephani Collins and Robert (Shannon) Rice; his siblings, Colleen (Al) Newton, Michael Collins, Philip (Tricia) Collins; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 4, 11 a.m., at the Mount Graham LDS Chapel in Safford. He will be buried in the Safford Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Caldwell Funeral Home.
