Mr. Myers was a retired special Police Officer at the Federal Reserve at Mt. Pony. He was a true salt of the earth man who loved to spend time with his family and working his land. Mr. Myers was a loving husband, and wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by two children; Vivian Sigouin and her husband, Richard of Elkwood and James H. Myers, Jr. and his wife, Lindsay of Elkwood; two sisters, Evelyn Raines and Rose Mary Cash; six grandchildren, Curtis Pugh, Richard Sigouin, Jr., Valerie Anne McCawley, Jeremiah Walker, Lisa K. Myers and James Myers, III; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his wife, Marion Bell Myers; one daughter, Roberta Lynn Myers Walker; and seven siblings, Jean Hawkins, Lottie Hackley, Helen Bosworth, Juanita Brown, Ralph Myers, Merle Myers and Herbert L. "Jack" Myers.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 2pm at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lignum, with Rev. Stan Mulford officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Hospice of the Rapidan, PO Box 1715, Culpeper, VA 22701 &/or Hopewell United Methodist Church, PO Box 87, Lignum, VA 22726.
